About

My name is Sydney Grace Tennant.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, I’ve proudly called New York home for the past decade. I hold a B.S. in Theater and a B.A. in International Affairs with a focus in counterterrorism from Skidmore College (my advisors always joked I should join the CIA). I continued my training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, as well as MN Acting Studio and The Barrow Group here in Manhattan.

I’m a working actor and teaching artist, currently pursuing my Master’s in Applied Theatre at CUNY School of Professional Studies. I teach and serve as Social Media Director for Bloom Performing Arts, where I get to help young performers find their voices and creativity. After moving to NYC, I co-founded the theater company 3DaysPrior, which produced three sold-out shows in its first year, and I can be seen opposite Josh Lucas and Katie Holmes in The Secret: Dare to Dream, a top-10 Netflix film.

When I’m not performing or teaching, you can find me welcoming guests at two of New York’s most iconic restaurants — Keith McNally’s Balthazar in SoHo and Danny Meyer’s The Modern, a two–Michelin-star restaurant at MoMA. I like to think of my work as a maître d’ as just another kind of performance — one that plays to a packed house every night.
